WHO SHOULD DO THIS ACCIDENT - INCIDENT INVESTIGATION TRAINING ?
This course should be done by employees with responsibilities for functions within the workplace that relate to accidents and incidents in the workplace and their investigation.
WHY IS THIS TRAINING IMPORTANT?
This course provides evidence that persons responsible for conducting investigations into accidents and incidents in the workplace have been trained and are competent to do so. Attendees will be able to identify and understand the legal requirements needed to monitor and investigate any incidents that occur and process the physical evidence of incidents and accidents, documenting and reporting these in the correct manner.
BASIC COURSE CONTENTS
This course includes the following important aspects;
Describing the requirements for workplace safety health and environmental incident investigation.
Providing the legal and organisational requirements, as well as any other legal requirements.
Providing the requirements for an investigation and the procedures to be followed.
Understanding and explaining the consequences of non-compliance.
Conducting SHE incident investigations, including identifying resources, gathering accurate and relevant information, processing physical evidence, conducting post investigation activities and completing and submitting reports.
COURSE DETAILS
The course duration is one (1) days.
Training can be conducted:
On-site: for a minimum of ten (10) and maximum of twenty (20) attendees per group.
Public training venue: for less than ten (10) attendees per group.
The course programme includes facilitator presentations, readings, individual activities, group discussions and skill application exercises.

Identify and explain what is expected of the Health and Safety Committee and the functions of the Health and Safety Committee.
Explain what is the prescribed recording and investigation of incidents.
TRAINING OUTCOME
Successful attendees will receive a certificate of competence.
ACCREDITATION
Basic Fire training is aligned to registered unit standards and is accredited by SAIOSH as meeting the academic requirements for 2 CPD Credits. Attendees will be assessed against the outcomes of the unit standards by completing a knowledge assignment that covers the essential embedded knowledge stipulated in the unit standards, and by compiling a portfolio of evidence that provides proof of their ability to apply the learning to their work situation.
