WHY IS THIS TRAINING MATRIX REQUIRED? 

This health and safety training matrix forms part of the health and safety compliance process and allows details of all employees health and safety training to be recorded and filed in the company site safety file.

WHY IS THIS TRAINING MATRIX IMPORTANT? 

This HSE training matrix is important because it records details of all health and safety training. These details can be then used to plan and carry out actions to resolve any issues identified affecting health and safety concerns in the workplace.  

The training matrix includes a training needs analysis, training matrix, internal training, training calender and a training certificate register.   

INSPECTION FREQUENCY 

This training matrix must be updated on a monthly basis or as and when training must be done as part of the company health and safety programme.

VALIDITY 

This training matrix must be completed and maintained by the Health and Safety Representative or Human Resource Manager who is properly trained appointed to do so. The training matrix must also be readily available for inspection or Audit.

HOW DOES THIS WORK AS A CONTROL MEASURE? 

In the hierarchy of controls, this training matrix forms part of the administrative control measures which should be in place to ensure that health and safety is compliant in the workplace. This training matrix records the details for all employees health and safety training in the workplace and provides evidence of control measure checks for safety concerns in the workplace.
