WHAT IS AN AIRBORNE POLLUTANT SURVEY?

This airborne pollutant survey is conducted to determine the exposure of employees to airborne pollutants in the workplace in order to ensure their exposure to these pollutants is below the limits determined by legislation.

Using approved NIOSH and OHSA methodologies, the survey will be conducted in accordance with the Hazardous Chemical Agents Regulations (HCA).  The samples are analysed by a SANAS accredited laboratory and the results are compared to the exposure limits in the HCA schedules. A detailed report is then compiled and submitted with recommendations for resolving or improving any concerns identified.

This airborne pollutant survey is aimed at small organisations whose employee site count is fifty-one to ninety-nine (51 to 99) employees.

WHO NEEDS TO DO THIS?

This airborne pollutant survey is intended for all companies who wish to determine the exposure of their employees to airborne pollutants in the workplace or who are required to conduct an airborne pollutant survey(s) within their organisation.

WHY IS THIS AIRBORNE POLLUTANT IMPORTANT?

This airborne pollutant survey is important because it determines the exposure of employees to airborne pollutants in the workplace. Poor air quality in the workplace can contribute to adverse health effects on employees working there, leading to poor productivity and increased cases of occupational illnesses and absenteeism within an organisation.

An airborne pollutant survey allows the employer to determine employee exposure to airborne pollutants in the workplace and so identify and resolve any airborne pollutant concerns that may exist, ensuring that employees work in a comfortable, safe breathing environment that reduces adverse health effects on employees and ensures that important health and safety legislation is complied with.

BENEFITS OF THIS AIRBORNE POLLUTANT SURVEY

An understanding of the organisation's airborne pollutant levels in their workplace and their compliance with legislation.

An understanding of the main airborne pollutant concerns that the organisation has to resolve or improve upon.

Comprehensive feedback on airborne pollutant levels within the workplace and recommendations for any concerns that require resolution.
