GENERAL

The purpose of this Letter of Good Standing (LOGS) process is to obtain a LOGS for the employer from Workmen's Compensation. A Letter of Good Standing is a letter from Workmen's Compensation that confirms the employer is registered with the Compensation Fund and that the employer is current and up-to-date with their required payments to the Compensation Fund.

WHO NEEDS TO DO THIS?

This Letter of Good Standing (LOGS) process is intended for all companies who need to obtain a Letter of Good Standing (LOGS) from Workmen's Compensation.

WHY IS A LETTER OF GOOD STANDING (LOGS) IMPORTANT?

This Letter of Good Standing (LOGS) process is important because it assists the employer with obtaining their Letter of Good Standing (LOGS) from Workmen's Compensation. The Letter of Good Standing (LOGS) is important to an employer because it provides proof to other interested parties that the employer is current and up-to-date with their required payments to the Compensation Fund. This assists the employer in such processes such as tendering for work or providing proof of their compensation status when working on a client's premises.

This Letter of Good Standing (LOGS) is conducted on behalf of the user who may not understand the process or have the resources to conduct the process and provides evidence to an inspector that an organisation is current and up-to-date with their required payments to the Compensation Fund and is therefore complying with legislation in this respect.

WHAT DOCUMENTATION IS REQUIRED FOR THE RETURN OF EARNINGS SUBMISSION?

This Letter of Good Standing (LOGS) process requires the following documentation to be submitted:

Completed W.As.8 Return of Earnings form

Returned W.As.6 Notice of Assessment form

Proof of payment of the assessment to Workmen's Compensation

Power of Attorney letter (for SafetyWallet authorisation to act on behalf of the employer)

COSTING

This return of earnings process is costed per Letter of Good Standing (LOGS) required which means the displayed cost is per Letter of Good Standing (LOGS) obtained. For example, if a user requires 3 (three) Letters of Good Standing (LOGS), the order should be made for the total number of Letters of Good Standing (LOGS):

Letter of Good Standing (LOGS) requires 3(three) to be obtained = 3.

Cost of order = 3 x cost per Letter of Good Standing (LOGS) (add this product 3 times in the SafetyShop).
